Let's Catch Up, Shall We?

So, of course I've been knitting socks. Here's my Trekking XXL Red Tweed socks. I used a beaded rib cuff (from Sensational Knitted Socks).

Then I made a pair of socks for my DH. For these I used Plymouth Sockotta for the striped parts and the navy blue toes are Opal Uni. I learned the hard way that this Sockotta yarn fades with the first wash! This pic was taken before they were machine washed. He loves them though (bless his little heart).

Being on a sock roll, I then made myself this lovely pair of Trekking Aquarelle socks. And with this pair I do believe that I've found my perfect fitting sock.....except that I've just GOT to figure out how to do a stretchy bind off on the cuffs, since I knit toe-up. Anyway, I'm proud of these:

Not socks, but --- I decided to try to knit a parrot so that my DH could be suitably adorned for "Talk Like a Pirate" Day. I sort of followed the instructions that I'd found in a British magazine. I
dyed the little guy with green food coloring; I just painted it on. The beak and feet are sculpted out of polymer clay. Isn't he cute?

Yes, he does have an eyepatch. He's a Pirate's parrot after all. Sigh.....
