A Little Catch-Up

I've finally synced my camera-full of photos and DH gave me the photos that he'd taken when we went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival (MDSW). So this will be my photo catch-up session.

(1)  Beaded Socklets -- these were for my niece, whose foot continues to grow alarmingly quickly. They fit her now...but for how long? It's hard to see the beads, but they're there on the cuff -- what little cuff is there. She likes them short! I used Opal Petticoat sock yarn.

(2) My "haul" from the first day of MDS&W:

The braid is alpaca roving in three shades, there's a ball of Jacob sheep roving  in two colors, The Fold sock yarn, niddy noddy (x 2), freebie magazines, Louet mini combs, Optim fiber, etc., etc.

The second day was mostly consumed with watching demos, sheep breed parade, and trying out (and buying) spindles. More pics to come...

What Is My Favorite Summertime Drink?

This is the question of the week, provided by our Secret Pal 12 (SP12) hostesses. So, in answer:

Iced Coffee!!!! brrrr!!

Although, I'd have to say that I drink iced tea much more often -- it's more available, I think.

Hey Pal!

I had my first contact from my secret pal today! I haven't gotten my assigned pal yet, but I'm so excited that it's starting. I'm sure we're going to have a sizzling time -- hey, my car's thermometer registered 105 degrees today here in Philly. YUP,  SIZZLING!!

So here's my SP12 Info for you, Pal!

Hmmmm... favorites would be wool. I don't really have any absolute no-no fibers.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
A yucky fabric roll for my straights; a nifty binder for my circulars; a toothbrush holder for my hooks.
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I've been knitting about 4 years -- I taught myself from a booklet. I guess I'm intermediate, bordering on a young advanced.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, here's my Amazon link. But I need to update it. [Updated but also ongoing process.]
5. What's your favorite scent?

I'm married with cats: 4 of them
11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?

What's Up Pussy Cats?

It's been quite a while since the catkins showed up here. So let's take a sneak peak: Well, from this angle you can see that these two are definitely sisters. I wonder what they're watching -- it must be darn interesting for them to sit so nicely side -by - side.  That's Sophie on the left and Dot on the right.

And the boys must be watching the same thing! Probably Squirrel TV.
Leo is the buff tiger and Mickey is the tuxedo boy.

After a long, hard day scoping the perimeters,
Sophie always likes to nap with her special
friend and stuffed animal, Linguini.

Dot prefers to nap with her "boyfriend," DH.
